African bishops commit to church unity

During the Africa Colleges of Bishops meeting, 11 episcopal leaders from the African continent pledged their support for worldwide regionalization and expressed a commitment to stay in the United Methodist connection.

Former students give back to families in need

Nine Hartzell High School students who completed their studies in 1981 have launched a foundation to help care for poor communities in southern Africa.

Liberian bishop counters misinformation

Bishop Samuel J. Quire of Liberia responded to protests following General Conference’s removal of bans on same-sex weddings and gay ordination. He is dealing with calls for the conference to hold a special session to vote on leaving, but such a meeting is not currently scheduled.
